- Aruneshwar Gupta, a third generation Advocate, passed his LL.B. degree in the year 1976 from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and moved to New Delhi, as his father was then a judge in the High Court of Rajasthan, to begin his practice in the Supreme Court of India as an Associate Advocate with Hon’ble Mr. Justice S.C. Agrawal, who retired as a judge of the Supreme Court of India. From 1978 to 1982, he worked with (Late) Hon’ble Justice P.R. Mridul, a judge in the Bombay High Court, before finally moving to the Supreme Court of India at New Delhi as a Senior Advocate.He has appeared in several cases touching almost all legal issues in the Supreme Court and almost all the High Courts of India. He was the Additional Advocate General for the State of Rajasthan from the year 2004 to 2009 and has been instrumental in drafting the Rajasthan Sports (Registration, Recognition and Regulations of Associations) Act, 2005, for the state of Rajasthan and similar Acts for the State of Himachal Pradesh and the state of Uttar Pradesh. He has also successfully defended the constitutional validity of the same before the High Court of Rajasthan and the Supreme Court.
He has served as the Vice President of the Supreme Court Advocate on Record Association (SCAORA) and the Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA); is a lifetime member of the Indian Law Institute (ILI) and a member of the Delhi High Court Bar Association, International Bar Association, SAARC Law, Union International Des Advocates, Indian Institute of Comparative Law and Indian Council of Arbitration.
He was appointed as the Chairman of a team of honorary Research Scholars entrusted with the work of editing the Supreme Court Reports by the then Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble M.N. Venkatachaliah during 1994 to 1996.
He is the Founder and President of Law Information Centre, an NGO which launched the first legal website on November 7th, 1997, and has in 2010 published a booklet entitled “Understanding Supreme Court Better.” Hon’ble Justice Arijit Pasayat, Chairperson, Competition Appellate Tribunal, is the present Chairman of Law Information Centre.
- Vinod K. Agarwal passed his LL.B. degree in the year 1962. He possesses deep legal knowledge and has decades of experience in the field of law. He enrolled himself as an advocate in the year 1963 and then completed his Masters in Law in the year 1965. Vinod has held a number of Senior Government positions including the Honorary Secretary General at the International Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution and Member of the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI). He has also served as Law Secretary to the Government of India.Currently, he serves as an advocate to the Supreme Court of India and High Courts and also acts as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.
